What do neuromodulators do?
Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin commercially known as Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin® or Jeuveau®. These neuromodulators temporarily paralyze muscles, preventing them from contracting and forming wrinkles. They are commonly used for forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows.
How long do they last?
This effect is temporary, typically lasting from three to six months depending on the type of neuromodulator used.
How are they administered?
The procedure is straightforward. It involves cleaning the treatment area and using a fine needle to inject the Botox directly into specific muscles. The number of injections depends on the area and the desired result. Patients typically experience minimal to no discomfort, and there is little to no downtime after the procedure. A topical numbing agent can be applied to minimize discomfort as well.
